1st-Place Runner-Up in AGM Competition

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 8:50 PM Comments comments (0)

It's nice news to know that I won 2nd place even though I did expect much of a lower position (3rd or 4th). This could be because of the catastrophic performances in the same day. Here's what you can expect. Oh, and just to make sure we don't give out info of others, we will not tell anyone their name and other information (personally.)

1st Performance: FAIL
Being the oldest pianist in the group, no offense but he probably forgot half of the song that he was playing. I first thought he was going to take forever, but he started remembering. Unfortunately, he made about 10 forgettable mistakes he was forced to fix. All were recognizable.

2nd Performance: Bad Pedaling; Too Fast
The second performance was the same song played by a girl but this time she didn't make so much mistakes. Some of the mistakes that she made included bad pedaling and too fast of the original tempo. The same song was played, but super fast. Plus, everytime she stepped on the pedal I hear a sound that seems no good for her play. These results led to her failure to contend.

3rd Performance: Good Job (3rd Place)
I think the third girl did a very good job playing the piano, but one thing I needed to know: did she need to pedal? But other than that she did nice playing. However, my mom criticized her with her fingers.

4th Performance: Horrid Tempo; Overall OK
My music teacher told me that this 4th pianist had bad tempo, beating, etc. But I unrecognized it though knowing the mistakes the person made I thought she was OK.

5th Performance: Bad Version of My Song
I just found out that he was playing the same song. Bad tempo.. okay you know what everything sucked: dynamics, tempo, pedaling, notes, you name it.

6th Performance: The Best (1st Place)
This guy is the bomb. He played the song that one of my friends are going to play in the AGM. No mistakes, beautiful playing, I predicted a score of 100/100 out of him.

My Performance: No One Knows (2nd Place)
I didn't do as well as I thought knowing that I made 3 minor mistakes. But how did I get 2nd place? First of all, no one knew what my mistakes were. Second, people were dancing to the music. And finally, loud clapping made the cut.

8th Performance: Crying About It
She played the same song that the 1st and 2nd performer played. Messed up too. And when we left the AGM next thing I heard Rico told me, "I saw a girl crying." I think she needs to get over it. If she practices, you know what kind of good happens.

MINOR RENOVATIONS
I didn't do much in the Red Encabo Official Website Blog, but today I am here to tell that I have made minor renovations on the about page. Realizing that there's too much unnecessary information to post, I removed practically half of the page.

TWITTER & YOUTUBE
I have just opened my Twitter page two weeks ago for no real purpose but to tweet what's going on, and I am happy to announce that in the next day 10 people were following me. I actually didn't expect that, but I give thanks to those people. By the way, if your stuff interests me, I'll follow you, so maybe something good return will happen if you ever follow me.

So far we haven't been able to make any real videos, but videos from me will be worked on during the summer or fall. I don't have anything special going on, and I do not have the time. I really hate the new YouTube Channel Template (in case you or I haven't noticed), so the fact that making a nice wallpaper for the channel this late time of year will be difficult. But that's pretty much it.

WEBSITES AT A HALT
All of these sites have been on a hiatus or construction. Why have they not been doing anything and what is going on here?

  • Shadow Infinite -- Telling Ace that Webs will only allow free users 10 pages, he will stop working on the website. "10 pages for a site is stupid," he remarked (something like this, not exact). "How can we add new content? Make a new duplicate of the site?" Until Webs brings 20 pages back and we have actual ideas about it, well, Shadow Infinite might be abandoned, closed, or stopped for a while. The grand re-opening has not been a success, except on Creepster's Lair.
  • Creepster's Lair -- The problem for Shadow Infinite is the same problem for Creepster's Lair. Creepster told me to make a new duplicate, but it failed to do any good. At the other hand this site is at a halt because Creepster has been busy making videos. The two videos that he uploaded is a series called "Ultimate Retards." One is a pilot, and another is the second episode. I think it is completely silly, plus it's kind of (really seriously, a lot) based on Jackass. If he ever wants professional videos, he can always come to me ('cause I'm a geek.)
  • Hibbleland -- Hibbleland is basically done, or is it? While Hibbleland only has a home page and a blog, Rico said "that's the only thing you need, I'll do the vids." What's the point of doing this if all he does is record vids only to "play"?

Considerably Even More "Agitated"

Posted on April 3, 2012 at 10:55 AM Comments comments (0)

It's April 3rd 2012 right now and today should be the day when my cousins come here. Mom said that since they will leave (or they left) at 4:00 AM in the morning, they should be at our house between 2-4:00 PM in the afternoon today, during me and my brother's music classes (Rico plays violin while I play piano, and we're really ain't-so super-great at doing it.) I also know myself because they are from Maryland, and I have been there around 3-5 times. Since driving there takes 9-12 hours, I had the idea they would come around by that time. Plus they are not on an airplane.

What should we do throughout the day? Well, depending on how much time (they will stay for a day, one before, or two: one before and after the Kalahari Waterpark). This is what mom, Rico and I have in mind. Because grandma just plays along and dad is going to work (for this day, the next day he will be available), they don't count.

  • Red -- Go to an outlet, eat somewhere, and Lazer Tag
  • Rico -- Play at an arcade, eat somewhere
  • Edna (mom) -- Stay at home and eat, Lazer Tag

This day and the next is going to be very exciting. I asked some of my friends that are coming tomorrow, "Can't you wait?" or "Ready for the next trip?" While Ace replied, "I have to anyway LOL," Creepster replied something like, "I can't sleep because I can't wait."

It seems that 18 will be swimming, and 22 will be coming. Mom said that because we don't have the efficient amount of money necessary to truly pay for the Entertainment Villa, Mom unfortunately downgraded us to a Village Suite. It's much like an Entertainment Villa but with only one story (not literally). She also said we will be sleeping on the couches (the younger people are), and the adults are sleeping on the bed. Very sad to me and it seems stupid for the kids to sleep on the floor while the adults get their own room with a nice comfty bed and its own TV--a room where they have--nevermind.

We will leave around 6:00 AM, likely, but not certain, because the waterpark opens at 10:00 AM, and you know, we have to make it worth it. Let's, at least, watch a movie or two, after the swim.

This is going to be exciting--and it's only the beginning.

Considerably "Agitated"

Posted on March 14, 2012 at 11:45 PM Comments comments (0)

I am really, really excited for next month. For some call me "overexcited" and say that "I am the person that gets too excited then gets disappointed in everything." Well, that's kind of true. For instance, one time I wanted to canoe but due to the lack of money, they said to me no. But now I am here at Ate Nida's house why it is going to be a "considerably agitated" week of Spring Week.

  1. 10 Days of NO School -- I am still at school and in my opinion school is a place that offers crappy food (not only does the food disgust me, but it's unhealthy, especially when it's PRECOOKED) and education that is too long for us to survive. (Seriously, 7 hours? You just sit on your desk--restricted of talking and sleeping.) I'm glad that this is happening even though I do work hard in school and get straight As. (That way my parents won't get ticked off.) I get a half day on March 30, and then no school until after monday, April 9.
  2. Kalahari Resorts -- 22 people--yes, 22 people (including me) are coming to Sandusky, OH. Mom said that she hoped of going to the Kalahari Resorts at Winsconsin Dells, WI. Well, we did go here in 2010, and me and Ace agree that we should actually try going to Cedar Point, but I don't think the adults will ride the "thrill" because they're more "mild and comedic" than they are "extreme." Plus, we can enjoy ourselves by watching some films at night.
  3. Cousins at Maryland -- There is no way I'm going to tell you their names to hide info but they will be coming to my house to stay for either one or two days. This is going to be real fun, especially when they will (predictably) bring a dog (a Miniature Schnauzer) to the house. It's going to be real fun. When I was younger I said Baltimore looked "trashy." But then looking at Detroit I think Detroit looks "real crooked up" and what I said about Baltimore should be reversed and not said.
  4. Cousins Meet Cousins -- Ace and Creepster are my cousins, and my cousins from Maryland are coming. We are deciding, what should we do? I want to play some football, to also improve my throwing skills. It seems that I can't throw a spiral yet I now know how to catch (now, not before.)
  5. Dog & Dog -- Plus if Ace's dog, Ginger, meets my other cousins' schnauzer, they should be friends. Ginger is probably friendly--in fact probably the friendliest dog I met. She doesn't bark when people are knocking the door--and I like that because barking is pretty annoying.
  6. Mom's Sister -- The mom of my cousins is my mom's sister. It's one happy reunion and one happy family that we all shall be happy for since 2008.
  7. We're Going Early! -- Yes, we will be going to Sandusky, OH, early at April 4, 2012, at 6:00 AM so then we can arrive at 8:19 AM (approximate). The water park opens at 10:00 AM, so we can pack our things up before we go (and we can explore new things.)

But then there are some unfortunate parts of "considerably agitated."

  1. Our cousins will be staying for 1 day, according to mom, and I believe it might be two days. Either way, one or two, it's not fortunate that after all these years after seeing our cousins again being done for, they leave. Kinda sucks.
  2. We'll stay at Ohio for only 1 day and that's really short. Due to the entertainment villa being so luxurious yet super pricy and expensive (costing us $1499) that's going to become a problem. But still, if we enjoy ourselves and make the most of it, this trip will literally be worth the money.
  3. Super Pricy -- Once again we will be eating out, going to Kalahari Resorts, watching some rented films, and much much more! However it's not as expensive as the Las Vegas trip last year, which costed us around $3000.
  4. Where will we find a dogsitter? -- We need to find a dogsitter that we can afford to have take care of the dogs because the dogs will not be allowed in the hotel. Mom is upset about this but I think Ace and Creepster's dad knows what to do in this situation.
  5. One week is too fast! -- I had a Christmas Break after 2-3 months of ultimate suffering and it felt like 5 days instead of 2 weeks. The biggest days were Christmas and New Year's Eve and that's all I can say.
  6. Vomiting -- Vomiting is generally not an issue especially in this time of year, for us, but because of "scorching" temperatures of around 60-80 degrees it seems Rico is gonna vomit. So it's best that we bring a plastic or puking bag so in case that happens it won't be a mess all over the minivan.

Kalahari Resorts... 2012?

Posted on March 9, 2012 at 5:05 PM Comments comments (0)

For those who are wondering in their heads, "What's up with Red with the updates?", "Why is Red not updating any longer?", or "Where has Red been?" or none of that at all, well, guess what? We are going to Kalahari Resorts at Sandusky, Ohio, again this year, since two years ago, only this time there will be practically 20 people coming with us and we will be staying at an Entertainment Villa for a day, due to its expense.

This is not a joke nor am I joking... what I was actually hoping is that we go to Cedar Point, because I'm getting into the habit of riding the extreme, when I was younger I was scared and acted as if I was not afraid of anything.

But just to make this short, we will be doing a lot of things (for some of us), especially me, because of these kind of plans. Look, I am not gonna update every day due to the "lack of time" I receive in this time of year, but what all invited people should know is that:

  • We're going to be staying at an Entertainment Villa in Kalahari Resorts. Unfortunately this is pricy and we can't truly afford it.
  • We are staying for a day. That's why it's important that leave early around 6-8 PM because this is one-time offer. Just kidding. We went here already.
  • 22 people (4 people will not be swimming) will be coming with us to Ohio.
  • Rico is making the plans of stopping by to get some "junk food." Pretty unhealthy if you ask me, but if we do end up in the gas station that would be a secondary priority.

If you want more of the information, go to the documents page and try to find the Kalahari documents. Easy as that, no need for the link.

Who's coming? Well, that's one thing for sure. My cousins, Ace and Creepster, my other cousins, four of them of course, who are coming from Maryland. Then three of our other friends, and some other people. Real and complete information will be given to those who download it. No membership or any of that crap is required, because I just don't feel like I can sign up in a PERSONAL site.

The End, alright?

Two Birthdays

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 4:05 PM Comments comments (0)

The first birthday I would like to introduce is my aunt, Ate Leah! She has now reached her 50th birthday and I am very happy for her. Speaking of her birthday I wrote about her birthday today on Warm Ups and etc.

But one "considerably special" birthday (to some people, excluding me) is Justin Beiber. Asking a couple of people if they liked Justin Beiber and his music, and here is what I received. Oh, and, the following names will be hidden, and don't tell me this is fake.

"No, I hate him. I don't know why I hate him or when I did hate him, I just do."

"Justin Beiber needs to be out of our gender!"

"What the f*ck do you think? NO!!!"

"No, f*ck him!"

Adding Something New to the Portfolio

Posted on February 29, 2012 at 9:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Coming to my friend's house knowing that she wants to create an all-new business after NRJ Janitorial Services plummeted to the bottom and literally failed, she asked if she can help her again. She also asked if I could convert her pictures into .pdf files. One thing is for sure, and one of them has to be that converting anything to .pdf or any other file (as long as it's readable) is simple. Without downloading some software that takes minutes to install, you can just visit this site: http://www.freefileconvert.com/.

Knowing that I haven't been updating for approximately 4-5 days is totally disappointed, especially with the lack of hours that I only receive every other day of the week. And weekends don't cut it, because I would be doing some other thing important--it even includes the weekdays, too, with me typing this blog post at my friend's house. I'm saying it like this because I don't want revealing any of her info.

I gave her at a couple of (or a quite lot, actually) choices--when it comes to small business--Webs, Weebly, Wix, Intuit, Yola, Ucoz, EZWeb123, 000WebHost, GoDaddy!, Homestead, and many more! Here are the things that I think could go and not go with her requirements:

WEBS
I have been working on Webs for four years now and yet I haven't been just as experienced due to close downs, failing sites, and many other conflicts for the couple of years. I told her that Webs was great when it came to premium packaging, because Webs.com always gave out discounts, and I liked that (hope I get money for it for my birthday.) But premium "stuff" is not what it is said to be. For instance, not matter what package you buy in order to remove adverts, it doesn't seem to work. Sometimes apps might want you to buy extra to actually remove adverts. Crap. Plus, the templates Webs offers is complete dipsh*t (excluse my expletive language). So, Webs doesn't work for this kind of situation.

WEEBLY
My dad showed me what other site builders are better than Webs. I first thought Weebly sucks. However, Weebly, in my opinion, is cheaper, more professional, and have better designed templates than Webs. However, I decided working on my sites on Webs because Webs offers many things you don't get on Weebly. Still, Weebly is a great site builder. You can get the basic essentials: a blog, a market, and a couple of pages. Weebly is also very simple--they don't get the many errors Webs gets, like sometimes publishing sites. Weebly can actually be a good decision, but let's see the others.

WIX
I started working on Wix two years after working on Webs. Probably the most customizable site builder out there, you just basically drag and drop and do whatever you want--now you can integrate HTML to FLASH WEBSITES! One thing, however, is that for a budget like my friend's, we couldn't use Wix for this. But again, Webs, Weebly, and Wix are great site builders.

INTUIT
I don't really know why I would go and decide using Intuit because I have no intention into paying but because of its popularity it could be a good decision. But paying $7.99 a month after a free trial seems undeciding for me. So the decision for choosing Intuit is anonymous.

000WEBHOST.COM
They say it's better than paid hosting, which I like. Plus finding some comments under YouTubers people are saying this site hoster is really worth it. I would need to learn more about this site hoster before deciding.

GODADDY!
This is the site hoster my friend was using for NRJ Janitorial Services, and she made no money. Sad because I thought it would be good. Unfortunately for every GoDaddy! Commercial I see on TV it's actually sexual, like that one about the .CO domains.

MOONFRUIT
Looking at Moonfruit at first I though Moonfruit was completely professional and beautiful. But trying it wasn't 100% free. It was a 14-day trial, plus it wasn't very simple to use at first. So I decided stopping my work there. Not literally work, just those times when I make sites using their site builder. Still love the sites from Moonfruit, though--professional, clean, minimalist, what can I ask for?

YOLA
I used Yola in 2009 and never used it again. I think they still sending me all that crappy email. However they were simple to use and they had decent site editing and templates.

SQUARESPACE
Squarespace is the biggest thing to think about--because Squarespace looks easy and simple, but this time I will not get fooled! Knowing that Squarespace offers a 14-day trial you start paying for it then! Even though Squarespace is a consideration and so far looks great for a revamped personal site, which I can integrate my stuff here to there, unfortunately it is overpriced for our budget! It is $20 a month ($22.22 month-to-month). Compare that to Webs, when sometimes the Pro Package is only $6.67 a month! No seriously, sometimes!

Wordpress is really one of the best site builders I have ever tried because it was simple and many templates release at least sometimes once or twice a week or month. But we're talking about an all-new small business! So, those sites might work out. I'll show her and we'll see what she decides. Kuya Alex said that people (or a group) are making sharing sites to make money with small business these days. Maybe he's right, or wrong, but I'm not completely sure of that.
